A Bit About Me
About Me
My name is Tierany Larcade, although some may call me TJ or just T. My major is Journalism, since I've always enjoyed a somewhat creative and free-writing experience and I've always loved to write freely when I was younger. I don't have any career goals in mind, and have had a lot of trouble trying to get a job as is. I think I'd get into writing books or maybe actually following the Journalism path but only time will tell. I'm honestly at LBCC for one reason, and that is to stay with my love interest as it was their one requirement. Otherwise I wouldn't have taken college into consideration because I was done with school when I graduated from high school.
I am most interested in media because of all the things you can share, misinformation or not. There are a ton of creative people out there who express themselves using media platforms and I find it interesting and intriguing to see how unique people are and how different we can be. As for culture, it's also really interesting to see how different people celebrate different holidays, different religions, and just really show what they believe in and how their community as a whole come together for things like that.

My Take On Media
I consider my main sources of information to be TikTok, Google, and sometimes the news itself. These are my go-to sources because while misinformation might be on one, I can always fact check it with the others. Although TikTok is also known to be loaded with misinformation, I've seen some pretty interesting stuff on it like actual news clippings, the "war" going on in Portland, and it's also the place to look for recent trends, even if that stuff isn't my thing. I find TikTok to be somewhat of a reliable source whereas Google and the news are more of a higher reliable source, though for Google you may have to do some digging to find accurate answers. I am deeply concerned about how much false information is spread everywhere but I suppose if someone truly knew that answer was wrong they could look into it themselves and not believe what was said whole-heartedly. Not everything that is said is true.
